Using Harvey Milk’s own courageous quotes as poetic prompts, Poet and Spoken Word Artist, Marie Whitman guides you through an exploration of the power of words. Take a ride through the ritual and rhythm of writing and create your own potent poetry. No experience is necessary; just bring a pen and an open heart. Marie’s motto: “Speak your mind. Tell your heart. Change your world a little bit.” Some of the writing produced in this workshop will be woven into Marie’s performance and instillation later that night at the opening reception, “Hope Will Never Be Silent.”
